DÉMIRA

Démira is a singer, songwriter, poet and producer. She took part in the television programme De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland (The Best Singer-Songwriter of The Netherlands). Déimira redefined her sound after neurological problems caused by a tumour. Producing music became a new means of catharsis, and soon she worked closely with Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Démira has been releasing and creating music since the age of 14. She creates everything autonomously, and played shows at festivals and clubs throughout New York, Norway, The Netherlands, Malta, Sweden and Germany.

MENTAL STRENGTH

On June 1st 2021, Démira sang her song Fountain live in front of the Dutch king, the queen and principles of mental health organizations at the annual "Appeltjes van Oranje" ceremony at The Royal Palace. The event celebrated 240 organizations in The Netherlands providing free mental healthcare, helping people prevent and recover from psychological problems. Since 2017, Démira teams up with mental health organizations such as MIND, aiming to improve the mental strength of young adults and teenagers in The Netherlands. The music video of her song Fountain attempts to visualize the topic, and open up about its ongoing challenges.
